Getafe receives Elche in the 35th round of La Liga. A date that could be key, since a victory would allow to get out of the relegation positions. Elche come to this match after beating Atlético de Madrid, and before that Rayo Vallecano. Jaime Mata will not be able to play, as he is serving a yellow card against Real Madrid. Enes Ünal and Damián Suárez will be available after missing the match at the Santiago Bernabéu due to suspension. "It's a final, no doubt. There is no time. All matches are finals, but the immediate thing is next Saturday. All that anger, all that anger is already latent in the players. They are aware of what is at stake", assured José Bordalás in the press room.
The historical balance against Elche reflects 25 meetings with a total equality: 7 victories for each team and 11 draws. To go back to the beginning, we have to go all the way back to the 1979/80 season. It was a 0-0 draw in the Second Division. The closest precedent is the 0-1 first leg, with a goal by Enes. In the scoring department there is a slight advantage for us: 29-25. The Turkish striker is the top scorer in these matches, tied at three with Jorge Molina, one of the players who has worn both shirts. As well as Damián Suárez, Ángel Rodríguez or Víctor. At the weekend, a new edition between Getafe and Elche.
