Getafe takes on Real Betis in the 36th round of La Liga. It is the first of the three remaining finals to achieve permanence. The visit to the Benito Villamarín is a tough test at the decisive moment of the season. Getafe and Betis face each other once again in a duel that began in the nineties in Spanish Cup. Las Margaritas was the scene of a Copa del Rey clash in 1991 that went our way, although the Sevillian team turned the tie around two weeks later. We had to wait almost ten years to face each other again. This time in the Second Division in the 2000/01 campaign. In this century it has become a regular encounter in the top flight. The historical balance shows a slight advantage for the locals in the 35 precedents: 11 wins, 10 draws and 14 defeats.

The last triumph was in 2020, a 3-0 result with goals from Ángel and Cucurella. Curiously, it was also with José Bordalás and Manuel Pellegrini on the bench. In terms of scoring, the score was almost equal: 35-40. Rubén Castro and Jorge Molina tied with five goals in these matches. Behind them, Ángel Rodríguez and Pedro León, and behind them, Willian José, with 2. As for the players who have worn both shirts, there is a long list. In addition to the incombustible Molina, there are Portillo, Pacheco and Bruno among others. A difficult match awaits, but with a lot at stake for both teams.
