Getafe CF, through the GTF Foundation, celebrated the fourth edition of the Gema Arribas Tournament this Saturday, October 24, a very special day at the Fernando Santos de la Parra Sports City to pay tribute to Gema Arribas, who was a player for Getafe CF Genuine during the 2019/20 season and passed away in May 2020 due to COVID-19.
Starting at 4:00 PM, the participating teams enjoyed an afternoon of football and camaraderie, with two triangular tournaments. The first featured Getafe Genuine, Fuenlabrada Genuine, and Rayo Vallecano Genuine, while the second brought together Fuenlabrada Imparables, Valladolid Genuine, and our team Getafe Al Alza.
The event also included an exhibition match between the Walking Football team of Getafe and Walking Imparables, composed of women undergoing cancer treatments and mothers with children with autism. This match once again highlighted the value of sports as a space for connection, support, and participation.
The 4th Gema Arribas Tournament became, once again, a celebration of the values represented by football, with inclusion, respect, and camaraderie as the main themes. It was an occasion to share, enjoy, and keep Gema's memory alive through what unites us: sports.
