Getafe Club de Fútbol and José Bordalás have reached an agreement to renew his contract for two more seasons, thus extending his association with our club until June 2028.

José Bordalás is one of the most important figures in the recent history of the club. Since his arrival on the blue bench in September 2016, the coach from Alicante has been the main architect of some of the club's greatest sporting successes.

In his first stint, he managed to bring the team back to the First Division in the 2016/17 season, completing an extraordinary comeback that allowed Getafe C.F. to return to the top tier just one year after relegation. Subsequently, he consolidated the club in LaLiga and led one of the brightest periods in our history, achieving a historic fifth place in the 2018/19 season and securing qualification for European competition. Additionally, he led the team in a memorable UEFA Europa League campaign, reaching the round of 16 and competing at the highest continental level.

After his return to the Coliseum in 2023, Bordalás once again demonstrated his commitment and leadership skills, guiding the team into a new phase of growth and stability in the elite of Spanish football. Under his direction, Getafe secured their place in the top division on the final matchday of the 2022/23 season, with a draw at José Zorrilla against Real Valladolid. Since then, his work, character, and connection with Getafe have further strengthened the bond between the coach, the club, and our fans, culminating in a season to remember for all the blues and the team's qualification to compete in the Conference League.
